Minimally Invasive Surgery

The physicians of N.E.O. Urology believe in treating Urologic problems in the manner that is most comfortable for our patients.  Often this means performing a laparoscopic procedure so that the patient’s pain is less, their hospital stay is shorter, and their time to full recovery is more rapid.  We provide a wide range of minimally invasive urologic surgery including da Vinci® Robotic Prostatectomy, Laparoscopic Radical Nephrectomy, Laparoscopic Adrenalectomy, Laparoscopic Pyeloplasty, Laparoscopic Nephroureterectomy, and Laparoscopic Lymph Node Dissection.

Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) Treatments

Benign enlargement of the prostate commonly occurs in men beginning in their late forties.  Medical therapy often provides symptomatic relief for patients.  However, when medical therapy is unable to correct the problem a surgical procedure may be necessary.  We offer the areas most experienced surgeons in performing TURP (Transurethral Resection of the Prostate) for the removal of benign prostatic tissue.  We also provide Laser Prostatectomy, a minimally invasive approach to benign prostatic tissue removal.

Female Incontinence and Prolapse Treatments

Our physicians offer a full range of treatments for female urinary incontinence and prolapse.  When medications do not correct the problem, surgical correction is often necessary should the patient desire to have a procedure.  We perform state of the art, minimally invasive surgical procedures for the correction of urinary incontinence and vaginal vault prolapse.  We also offer Urodynamic testing to appropriately categorize the type of incontinence prior to surgical correction so that our physicians can choose the most appropriate procedure for each individual patient.

Kidney Stone Surgery and Prevention

The physicians of N.E.O. Urology are skilled at minimally invasive treatment options for patients with kidney stones.  We utilize laser technology and small, flexible instruments to fragment and retrieve stones that may be trapped within the drainage system of the kidney.  We also offer shock wave lithotripsy, a non-invasive treatment option for treatment of kidney stones that utilizes shock waves to break stones into small, passable particles.  Our physicians are also trained in percutaneous renal surgery for treatment of larger, staghorn kidney stones.

Following treatment of an acute attack of kidney stones, our physicians will determine if you are a candidate to undergo a metabolic evaluation to determine the cause of your kidney stones.  We will give dietary recommendations and prescribe a medication to help to prevent further attacks should this be appropriate.

Vasectomy

We offer vasectomy as a means of permanent sterilization.  This procedure is mainly performed in the office with the use of Valium to relieve patient anxiety.  Our physicians and staff ensure that you are comfortable during the procedure and that your experience is a pleasant one that is free of worry.
